September Long Weekend

Well my weekend was pretty relaxing!  I didnt do a whole lot, and it was really nice.  I got to sleep in and see Jamie and TOBY! :)

I went up to the city friday after school.  Saturday morning we went down to cordyn village for breakfast at Fresh Cafe and it was really good.  It is a very nice little area with a beautifil patio.  It is a young and artistic community.  So this place had a juice bar with all sorts of mixtures of drinks.  Also all the eggs are free run and the breakfast sausage is turkey or bison.  It was a neat little place.

Then we did some shopping around, we had some last minute stuff for school to pick up and did some shoe shopping and such.  Jamie got a hair cut in the mall.  Then we picked up some groceries and made supper.  We got our groceries at this Cramptons market which has all local produce and meats and cheese.  So we got local steaks and fresh lettuce, carrots, tomatoes potatos, green beans and corn.  That night we had bbq steak, salad, green beans and baby potatoes.  It was very good.

Sunday again we bummed around, Jamie finally hung up the curtains for the bedroom which have been sitting in our storage room for a year now haha.  We got sick of the Superstore lights shining in the window really quickly.  I did probably five loads of laundry--just my clothes!!  I had so much laundry!  We also had the tv and internet set up finally.  We watched a movie called Priest and it was based in the future about vampires and was not bad.  Then we had supper and watched some tv and went to bed.  It rained most of the weekend.  Monday it finally warmed up though.  So on monday i packed all my stuff (folded the huge pile of clothes i had washed) and loaded it up in the car.  We watched a movie, Love Actually, and I quite liked it!  It seemed to be pretty good.  Then Jamie convinced me to watch some discovery channel... and then we made supper and I took off back to Winkler and pretty much went to bed right when i got home.

Now today (Tuesday) has been a fairly slow day, we had a presentation in class today about the school's dental and medical insurance.  And then didnt do a whole lot else for the rest of the day.  So we got out of class a half hour early, which was nice because I think my brain is still in weekend mode.

Also today I realised that the trip to Guatamala would be leaving on June 24, and i would miss Rileys grad and possibly even my own Dental Grad.....So i guess i have a decision to make :(

Today at lunch i grabbed a few groceries, I am finding it hard to buy for one person because i cant buy certain things now because they come in too large of packs.. so i have to only pick one type of fruit or vegetable and such.  Which bugs me because i hate always eating the same thing, i like variety.  But if i buy blackberries and strawberries, they go bad before i can eat them all.  I dont like just eating broccoli and dip, i like to eat a variety of veggies and dip, so i have been buying a small tray of them so that i can have a variety.  Because i cant be buying a head of cauliflower, broccoli, a bag of carrots and snap peas and baby tomatoes all the time!  Especially since i am gone on the weekends usually, its going to be hard to buy produce so that it isnt sitting in my fridge wasting every weekend.

But I think i am going to head off to do some homework!  Then hopefully have some time left to watch tv or sleep!  haha

The Weekend is Almost Here!

So the long weekend is coming up and it will be nice!  I think i am going to head up to winnipeg for the weekend to see Toby and Jamie :)

Jamie is just moving up this weekend and starts school next week.

I am not really sure what exactly i will do this weekend, but probably just study and catch up on sleep!  Maybe even catch up with some friends in the city!

I have been missing Toby A LOT!!  I keep forgetting he isnt here and sometimes when i see the blanket curled up in a certain way, in the corner of my eye it looks like Toby! haha or when i hear noises i think its him and then i remember he isnt here!! :(  Its lonely coming home to and empty house!  And now when i spill food on the floor, i actually have to pick it up! haha.  I am also really missing having a dishwasher!  I HATE doing dishes. 

I have quite the stack of laundry piling up, but i have been neglecting doing it because i have so much and i dont feel like hauling it to a laundromat and waiting for it, because it would take forever! there is a lot!  I think I am just going to pack it all up and do it in winnipeg for free at Jamie's apartment.  That way i can do it throughout the day. 

I bought uniforms this week, and i have to wash and iron them for next week-so i had to go buy an iron and an ironing board-- i hope i dont wreck them because i honestly have no clue what to do!  I have never ironed a piece of clothing in my life!!!  I also have to get some nice white sneakers and protective glasses for next week to start practicing in the clinic!  I am exciting to start practicing some real stuff. 

At school we have little dummys with fake teeth to practice on, we named him Dexter. haha.  He is just a head with teeth!  Once we master working on him, we practise on each other!  I am sort of nervous..  Our instructor told us of stories of patients throwing up on her while she took an impression of their teeth.  I guess when they take the mold of your teeth, the stuff they use tastes really bad and really bothers people with bad gag reflexes... so sometimes they threw up!  EWW.  She also said that when she was in school and her classmates practiced on her, she had a bad gag reflex... and so she ended up throwing up several times!!  So I am not looking forward to it...

My class seems to be very nice so far.  There are 21 of us and several instructors.  There is maybe 5 girls that are German immigrants, who have moved here in the past 2-7 years.  Some have accents and some dont.  I really noticed that most of them all wear skirts, every day!  There is also a mother-daughter duo in the class!  Kind of neat.

Since i have started school, i have been brushing and flossing my teeth at home like crazy!  I dont know why really, but i have been.

Dad said my car is in Saskatoon, so it should be delivered to moosomin sometime next week i would think.  I cant wait!

Last night it thunderstormed all night!  It woke me up a couple times. It must have rained a fair bit because it seemed quite wet this morning. Now tonight i can hear a cricket "cricking" outside my bedroom window... ughh

I am very excited to become a frequent customer of Tim Hortons :) YUM coffee!

But i better head to bed!  Night!
